Catherine J. Cheroutes is a native of Colorado and has made her home in Summit County for many years. Cathy was licensed to practice law in 1993. In 1998, she became a Deputy District Attorney for the Fifth Judicial District, where she tried numerous felony, misdemeanor and juvenile cases. In 2002, Cathy joined private practice where she devoted most of her time to family law. She formed The Cheroutes Law Firm in 2006. Dedicated to serving the legal community and the community at large, Cathy served as a Guardian ad Litem in numerous dependency and neglect matters. She was recognized for her service in 2009, receiving the Guardian ad Litem Of the year by Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the Continental Divide. Cathy has also been appointed by the court to represent parties in mental health and probate cases. In addition, Cathy has been appointed to numerous boards and committees. Notably, in 2010 Cathy was appointed by Governor Ritter to serve as a member of the Fifth Judicial District Judicial Performance Commission.

Maryjo C. Zweig has practiced law since 1989. Prior to moving to Colorado in 2007, she was a partner at a large law firm in Buffalo, New York. As a trial attorney, she defended numerous businesses, individuals and governmental entities in a variety of claims, including general negligence, medical malpractice, product liability and civil rights claims. Due to her skill representing clients in trial, she was frequently enlisted to serve as trial counsel to defend especially challenging claims. Since arriving in Colorado, she has focused much of her work on family law. Her background as a trial attorney offers substantial benefits to our clients, as she can develop powerful strategies to protect your rights in the event negotiations or mediation cannot lead to agreement. In addition, Maryjo frequently devotes her time and talent to teaching other lawyers effective techniques in trial advocacy, depositions and discovery.

Steven M. Zweig has been a trial lawyer for nearly 30 years. He has a robust civil litigation practice, representing individuals and businesses facing challenging legal issues. Steve has devoted part of his practice to representing injured people in personal injury claims. Steve has recovered numerous seven-figure settlements, and has tried many cases in state and federal courts in New York. He has also argued more than two dozen appeals in state and federal court. When representing companies, Steve helps them establish strong risk management strategies. Steve was selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers each year since 2009 and was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2014 (Copyright 2013 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, S.C.) in the field of Insurance Law. He is a member of the New York bar. His membership in the Colorado bar is pending.
